The spring is a hectic but exciting time for Drs. Mohr and Oviatt. There’s always a lot to do to get mares ready for the upcoming breeding season, and few things are more rewarding for our vets than performing neonatal examinations on the new foal crop that resulted from all of last year’s hard work!
While there are no guarantees and never a shortage of challenges when it comes to successfully breeding horses—whether you are contemplating having your mare bred by live cover or by artificial insemination with cooled or frozen semen, or are wanting to have semen collected and shipped from your own stallion—our knowledgeable veterinarians pledge to do their very best to ensure that mother nature has the odds in her favour! We are hoping to expand our reproduction services over the next few seasons to include embryo transfers and in-clinic freezing of equine semen. Our doctors are happy to explain the various options available, the processes and costs involved, and to answer any and all questions you might have.
